The dance company Marie Chouinard will launch the 10th edition of the Montreal High Lights Festival with his latest creation, "Orpheus and Eurydice." This iconoclastic dance revolves around themes of humor and sexuality. Fourteen dancers will be on stage to explore the visceral sources of creation. The movement of their bodies will be accompanied by breath, yells, vowels and consonants to form the "dancing demon". The announcement was made Wednesday by the team Spectra under the unveiling of the programming of the cultural component of the festival which runs from February 19 to March 1. Two weeks ago, organizers were forced to cancel due to lack of subsidies, two operas by François Girard, which were originally scheduled to start the festivities. The budget of one million dollars required to submit two works should be equally funded by ticket sales and public and private funds.
