The true nature of Bernadette (1972), Gilles Carle

To preserve Quebec films and promote their dissemination, Quebecor invests half a million dollars per year for five years.

Called "Elephant: Memory of Quebec cinema", the project is to transfer some 800 feature films in digital Quebecois and make them available on the digital TV platform Video on Demand. Fans can watch anytime, seven days a week

Twenty works are already available, including the masterpiece by Denys Arcand, Gina (1975), and the film that proved Carole Laure, the death of a woodcutter (1973), Gilles Carle.

Quebecor deliver a portion of the income distribution to creators and their dependents. Access to this catalog will be free for students and researchers in cinema.

A database

Quebecor also created on the Internet a database on Quebec cinema, including synopsis, photos of filming, interviews, film posters and papers. The specialist film Quebecois Marie-Jose Raymond led the project.

After the feature films, Quebecor has made available on Video on Demand short films, documentaries and animated films produced in Quebec.
